Keeping the Astra Mk1 Estate going. Needed CV boots for the National Car Test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7doUjPXJPoM

A good job done and very well explained for anyone, including complete novices. The use of the self grip "Mole" wrench is fine when the mechanic has your feel for the job and after all; the world is full of people who have every "official" tool available to humankind yet can still cock the task right up by being too brutal.

JB I didn't go looking for the current fleet, they just sort of followed me home and now they won't leave without an extradition order from the Japanese government..

I had a Kadett on 'W' reg back in the day. 1.3 also & yes it went like stink for such a small lump.
I think that the Opels were built in Germany & Vauxhalls, of course in UK, maybe wrong tho'.

There it be.

I let it go for this a Mk2 Cavalier 1.6GL in pale green with plush green velour etc etc....
Was a mistake. The Cav drank oil like it was petrol (as they did).
I saw the Kadett af few years later in a car park in Cosham some years later it had gone round the 100k and still looked good. My 'Cav' was flagging
