no this is new strengthen one which is about £5 more on ebay meant to last longer than the brass type. the main problem to do with the handling can be improved by fitting minor (m c rally) kit coil over dampers instead of lever arms which should tranform the handling

Well if there's no yellow metal in it, you can quite safely use EP90 in there.

I suspect you won't find 140 oil at Halfords - try Frosts', I got some for the tractors there (steering and reduction gears in back axle need lots).
Mother had a '76 Marina (1.3 coupe) for about eight years, then passed it on to my sister who had it for a year (and my dear brother-in-law isn't anywhere near the mechanic he thinks he is) before she got her first lease car. It never let us down - and Ma was never a slow driver, so it got thrown into corners! It went all over the parish in the snow of '78 - even Land Rovers were being driven cautiously that year!

A guy I know had a similar story. He worked in the building trade and his Marina Coupe, with two bags of cement in the boot, would go anywhere in the snow!tractorman wrote: It went all over the parish in the snow of '78 - even Land Rovers were being driven cautiously that year!

Re: 1976 morris marina project
my dad had a simlar story to with his marina driving up a steep hill out of a village on the way home from work, he remembers pasting three modern cars with there wheels spinning on the spot little laugh to himself climbed the hill looked back they were still there the only thing that past him was a land rover and a saab 900 which he said i quote" was on rails" but it still shows that the older cars have the last laugh in the end

Re: 1976 morris marina project
quick update almost finished the wing and i am now on the jacking point on the driver's side
still not completely happy with the result i might have to rub it down again as i can still see bumps if you look from above but it do for now. Stops it rusting anymore 10 times better than what was there but could be better
