I agree, the one I ended up with in a deal was far worse than made out on closer inspection, and would have cost far more to make into a nice car again that it was worth, so I ended up breaking it for bits, and got a reasonable return on it.

Being a 1.8 VVC it went like stink and was a hoot to drive though.

Shame as that looks a nice F, really suits Nightfire red.
Going off on an tangent a bit but here is a £200 MGF I bought a few years ago

It was a 10ft car, looked good from 10 ft away and in the pics, but screen surround was full of rust, front screen had a crack, rear screen was torn, inside was full of water, exhaust was rotten, rusty spots all over, alternator needed replacement, so by the time you'd have sorted that, not worth it when you can get a good one for 750-1000.

There is nothing wrong with liking the MG-F.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I liked those stripes on the TR7 - they gave definition to a side view that is now rather slab-like
