So I just need to nip to the post office sometime this coming week and get it taxed - once that's done we are ready for the rally season :D

The day job consistently gets in the way of enjoying the classic fleet but last bank holiday weekend we took a couple of days off and drove the Javelin up to Darlington for the annual Jowett Car Club Rally - Faultless drive with exception of the comedy ignition switch which would choose the most inappropriate place to fail - try a busy contraflow on the M1 - second lane half way past a bumper to bumper convoy of artics and no where to pull in along with the idiots behind me who believe that they can drive straight over the top of the Javelin. Some frantic giggling of the ignition switch brings the engine back into life and on we continue - had a quick look at the switch which also controls the lights but cannot find anything obvious - I will have to strip it down and clean it up when I can find the time.

100 Jowetts assembled from around the country and abroad, 200 members in the hotel over the weekend, rally day was at the Bowes museum and somewhat damp - but a great collection of cars (will post pics on a separate thread) whilst I judged separate classes our Javelin was judged and won the class concours so we were well pleased

Looking good Chris. I hope to see it at the Bradford Classic this year. I'll be with the Triumph Dolomite Club but Steve W. (all the Jowett lot know him) won't be able to make it because he's got family coming over from the USA. The first time I went to the Bradford Classic (it was the first one) Tiff Neddell was there and I'll never forget what he said. His exact words were "isn't the TR7 the last Triumph that counts?" I immediately pointed out my Acclaim to him.

What value would a Jowett in that condition fetch?
£7 - £8 k - although I seen one fetch £10k + - good running cars requiring cosmetic improvement can be had for about £4k + and restoration cars can be anything from £0 - £3k

I think that an awful lot of people would assume they'd need to spend more, me included.
At these values, the Javelin is a massive bargain. It's such a shame that these very special cars aren't more readily available.

They do come available - you just need to know where to look - I post a monthly Jowetts for sale on the club website - not much in this months selection but I known of a good half a dozen come up for sale in the same month - link below for this month
