Here is a photo of one of the cup holders fitted, a second to go in front has been ordered, it folds flat against the tunnel to approx 20mm thick
Re: kevin s's blog
Been busy over the last couple of months, painted the TR wheels,
Then decided to tidy up some crack in the lotus.
The range rover is going fine, I traced the rough idle to low fuel pressure, fitted a new regulator and now you can adjust mixture to spot on factory settings, I have also started prepping the 2 replacement rear doors for the range rover.

Re: kevin s's blog
an update on progress, on the range rover I have been working on the replacement rear doors,
knocked out the dents, then repaired a couple of small areas of rust.
Then primed, guide coated and painted.

The window frames were also a problem, the bracket which holds the quarter glass in had rusted away so i made a new one.
one side all the lower parts of the frame had rusted away so using parts of another rusty one I made repair sections and welded them in.

finished frame
door now fitted, just the rest of the car to paint.
Also started looking at the lower tailgate , decided it is just to far gone so I have bought a replacement one, this is rust across the top, the bottom is also non existent and the outer skin has rusted through.

The paintwork on the lotus is all finished, and I have fitted a MX5 motor for the headlamp lift which works superbly now.
the tr has all 4 wheels painted and fitted.

On the range rover slowly progressing with the bodywork the front doors are also painted as is one wing, no corrosion in these so pretty straightforward.
Also repaired the last area of rust on the rh inner wing, basically cut out all the area round the top rail inside and out and the bottom 3 inches or so under the headlamp as well as both front body mounts.

Re: kevin s's blog
Finished the welding work on the range rover, painted it and started putting together but am missing the square plastic inserts for the headlamp screws,
this is the larger parts I cut out (the rest had to be swept up)
next up is painting the wing bonnet and scuttle, just need some decent weather (and time!)

Re: kevin s's blog
time for a quick update, progress on the cars has been limited by two major diy projects, firstly making and fitting all new cupboards for the utility room then demolishing walls and moving the kitchen, pretty much down to the decorating now though.
On the cars the range rover is pretty in regular use, just the rear wings and roof need painting, rear wings will be done soon roof can wait til next year, the TR Mx5 and Lotus are just being driven and occasionally washed, mx5 and tr need some paintwork which I plan to look at over the winter, we have thoug put the rear wings, lights and fuel tank back on the minor, this is where we are now:
hopefully some more progress soon.

Re: kevin s's blog
Been doing lots of building work at home but found some time to paint the range rover rear wings, the roof will have to wait until next year, hope to do the rear bumper soon, some pictures.
and on the minor all the rear suspension is stripped down for painting re-bushing and replacement of the oil seals.
I have also cleaned up the chassis and waxoyled the underside and boot floor, the only rust issue being one rear bump stop which fell to pieces easy enough to bolt a new one on though.and on the minor all the rear suspension is stripped down for painting re-bushing and replacement of the oil seals.
