Must have been a wrench selling the capri but I guess a lotus cortina is at the top of the wishlist for many ford addicts (and a few from other marques too!)

The end result should be impressive if the capri is anything to go by and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.

I thought that when the capri went I would be gutted but because the lotus was waiting in the wings I didn't bat an eyelid.
I also sold the chevy truck today so its full steam ahead on the Cortina.Should be collecting this weekend.

Yes and yes.
The truck can never compete against a lotus mk1 in my opinion.

I can understand that but it must have ben gut wrenching seeing all that work driving away. I hope I am never in that situation as the "not daily drivers" that I have would be very difficult to replace.

Ive wanted a Lotus all them years and if I hadn't of done the truck then I wouldn't of had the money to buy the lotus.
At the end of the day I sold my capri that was my pride and joy and the truck just became another project.
The real passion will go into the Cortina.

Yeah, same here, the Lotus should soon be one of the very best examples anywhere in the world. Here's wishing you success, I have a feeling that the restored car will - if it's possible - be even better than the Capri. :o
