Just spent a fascinating 15 minutes reading the full story - brilliant write up, and huge congratulations on an excellent achievement. Let us know what the final diagnosis on that head was, eh?

Superb.

Cheers! :D

Thanks for the kind words.

It was a fantastic trip. Despite the breakdowns we had a lot of fun and everyone loved the little Mini that flatly refused to die.

A couple of presenters from a popular morning TV show were on the rally in a beat up Jackaroo/Trooper. They did live crosses every morning. We were on TV three times.

Two Mini specialists have already offered to rebuild DAV's engine if we do the rally again next year. My co driver is keen for another run, but I am facing some opposition from SWMBO....

In the future we'd love to take DAV to the UK and Europe, maybe for an International Mini Meet. The return shipping costs and time factors are prohibitive at the moment.

Well done guys on a epic trip - you must have a great sense of achievement having completed the run especially when it would appear that most of the other entrants choose larger / more powerful vehicles - but then again people tend to dismiss the legendry mini :D
