Well the local radiator refurb company did a great job and had mine ready in under a week. I've now swapped it over and even better managed to get the engine running over the weekend. There were a couple of minor teething problems to fix but generally it went really well, nice to hear those webers again!!

Starting my singer recomission in a few weeks and im thinking of getting the rad done, im changing the hoses anyways so it would make sense and help cut down on the shake down problems initially. These old rads always look solid until yiu are miles away from home then boom...

Recore was £170 but I asked them to fit the largest core possible to aid efficiency. At first I thought that was a little pricey but considering the work involved plus the cost of the core it isn't too bad.

£170 inc an uprated core sounds a bargain! Thats the way im going in a few weeks. Seen a place advertising modern hoses that are treated to appear as they would have back in the day. So them along with a recore will aid reliability i reakon.

I've not made much progress in recent weeks for various reasons but the good weather over the weekend gave me the chance to make a start cleaning up the underside of the bonnet. I've removed the old sound deadening which was tatty and plan to paint the underside rather than replace the mat;
Hoping to get the MOT sorted in a couple of weeks before the final bit of external paintwork is done.
Seeing the car out in the sunshine reminded me how much I want to get back on the road so I can enjoy the car again;

Finished the bonnet over the weekend, not perfect but a huge improvement. It needed a lot of cleaning up as the old contact adhesive had eaten into the panel in several areas. I've used some rust proofer prior to priming, flatting, colour coats, more flatting, then lacquer;

Well the car went for MOT today, the first one in 8 years. I must have had enough fingers crossed as it got through with no problems. A very slight leak from the rear flexi brake hose was the only thing picked up which was cured with an extra tweak of a spanner.

Nice - as you may know, these are my favourite Arrows! I hope you have many enjoyable adventures in the car now it is sorted and legal. The trick is to keep it in that condition and I don't envy you over that task!
