I'm bored and sick of not doing anything! Sight is hit or miss still switched the P
settings to increase font size for the bad times, pail text on black background does
a lot especially in a dim or dark room. If it's light forget it!

I dug out the speakers and got the template from the box trying it against the car
and using a wide ruler and tape measure with camera as i moved mt head the blood
blurred the vision of my eye so I couldn't note the measurement!

Hence photos!

The Sony speakers I have are about an inch deeper that the \factory fitted 6 x 9
As my father is off for 2 weeks getting him to make the spacers for the speakers
keeps him out of my hair!

Sticking with the Mitsubishi parts bin here is a very smillar part to the that from the
L200/Shogun Sport dash pod. But this is from A Mitsubishi Decila! As it is not set at
an angle so the gauges are not tilted it looks the part.

Taped in place and looking like it will fit the spot

Working outside or doing things are worse but If there are anything happening I
will update the thread. I have an appointment on Friday for a medical relating
to what benefits I get for being disabled

(please god I hope they don't aske me to read or sign anything!!!)

Please not that the marking up and mocking up is off the car. So I will try it
in the car before I do any jutting into the old dash panel.

It's hard to take photos when you can't see the on screen icon on a tiny touch screen
on a phone! There are three sets of photos, bare dash, first idea of location, then
second idea of location.

Please remember the pod would sit lower than it is and could be worked to fit into that
panel better. So please let me know what you think thanks

If it was mine, I would have the front of your new pod sitting over the step in the dash with the panel the clocks fit in to level with it. This would involve trimming the body of the pod down and routing out the step slightly to clear the clocks I was fitting in to the pod.
I would also be tempted to see if the existing dash could be colour matched to allow your new pod to be sprayed to blend in.

im not keen on it, what gauges will it be holding when in place?? have you tought of either mounting a pod on the bonnet (mid 70s bad custom car) or one of those displays that reflect on the windscreen?

Okay I'm winging this as my left eye got worse last night!
I have throught memorry managed to reduce the screen resolution to it's lowest, but on somethings I am still going off memory as I still can't see the text or icon!
The medical for Atos for my disablity benefits was in hartlepool
The doctor doing the medical probably thought I was faking it, but after the fall last night I wasn't!
Then immediately Driven to Sunderland eye infarmary's A&E.
The doctors say it needs to stabilize a little before they operate! They will pop the eye out then drain the gel/fluid in the eye. I would be in and out n a dsay with any luck but that is afyer the consultant has seen me on the 10th of march.
I can barely read text at the moment and that is only if the text is over 1.5 inches high. So I will be having problems reading or posting for a while. Even more frustrating when you end up house bound and people fuss over you it's worse than cabin fever on steriods!
Had to type this in a open office document to bump up the size as buttons get in the way

I may still have problems with my sight for some time, but that doesn't stop me from
building up a small reserve of pessary car parts!

Headlights and wing mirrors are commonly damaged by other motorist but can cost a
fortune if bought brand new.

So I managed to find a gentleman who is breaking a mk1 neon, and I will hopefully be
getting a few more parts from him over the coming weeks/months.

The first batch of parts arrived Friday morning. Both headlights, both electric wing
mirrors, and the steering column.

As a comparison here is the steering column of a mk2 Volvo V70 on top and the mk1 neon
steering column below.

The idea of having the neon steering column being able to do what the Volvo's does
still intrigues me, and it would be something to be asked about at a professional
machine shop or the company that customized the drive shafts for me.

Not only would mean the job would be done properly but also keep someone emplyed
in this country and possibly train someone else up at the same time!

Sorry but those don't go my way or peak my interest remember!
Please remember my sight is a little off so forcing myself to look at a screen even under suitable
conditions can give me headaches if not mygranes!

So please expect loads of hypos or typos to come!

The standard domestic US neon steering column is not adjustable, the export model had tilt
version. But the Volvo V70 had tilt and telescopic, which is better if you are raising or lowering
the seat for comfort. Please remember that although this old girl is mine I know the parent's will
be using a lot too!

Plus I have no idea what health issues I or my parents might have down the line so future proofing
the old girl while I can or have the chance might be an idea.
