No, but I have a message from admin saying that I have one, yet I don't.
I promised the guys that I wouldn't stick their number up here or I'd do that instead. :(

I was searching ebay for 3.3 intake manifolds seeing what other vehicles the engine I am using is in.
Image
93 - 97 Dodge Intrepid uses the same engine and the manifold looks closer to the engine, if the bit that has the sensors on which bends the wrong way was cut off and was replaced with that bit of the Voyager's

I sent my quiry to Jimbo as he was thinking of having a different intake manifold.

jimbo in MI wrote:Yes they bolt on. I was thinking of using one of these. Just like you said, cut the neck off and mount a throttle body.

The only thing that concerned me was it tapers from end to end. It is higher/taller on the rear of the engine (transmission end) than the belt end of the engine. I am not sure it will clear the hood. I have not had a chance to get to the junk yard to measure it.

You will have to relocate the coil pack with this intake. That is fine because the coil hits the hood with the intake I am using and the one you are using. Look where they mount it on your ebay picture. I was thinking of using that coil bracket, or making one similar to that.

The Intrepid/300/LHS guys have swapped for the van intake like what we have. The van manifold gave more bottom end power but lost on the upper RPMs. We do not need that much low RPM power with these engines.

And in response to the question what vehicle did his engine and intake manifold come off?

My intake is from an earlier generation engine. In fact my whole engine is from 88-95 era. You have what appears to be a 96-2000, then they had a completely different heads/intake starting 2001 to present. The LH series car had a different intake yet that was the same throughout the entire run 93-97.

1988-2000 transverse engines, and the intrepid motor upper intake will all bolt on to each others lower intake. The newest generation has a completely different mounting method and will not interchange.

Is it me or does the picture I have above look as though the intake manifold comes apart? If it does then it might make easier to modify.

I fitted the neon's original transmission mount and then lined it up.
the top of the engine mounting bracket is lined up with it's mount on
the engine bay frame.

Image

Yes I put the exhaust manifold on, then I made sure that the engine
was totally level. The engine and gearbox are sitting on wooden blocks.
A trolley jack was placed under the front crossmember, and jacked up
by almost two inches from where it would normally bolt up.

Image

It looks like the exhaust manifold is a little too close to the firewall and the brake pipe may need to be moved

Image

Image

I'm wondering if the engine and gearbox might need to be tilted back
over to give the exhaust manifold more clearance.
The engine and gearbox can't go any further forward, unless I don't
mind the waight being infront of the front wheels!

I will drop the radiators in to show the clearances there, but I will
have to change my cooling fans as they are too thick for the gap.

As the engine is lower than where it was when I took the photo with
the air intake manifold on, I might try it again just to make sure.

I popped the original engines air intake manifold back on!

Image

No, the bonnet still wouldn't close with it on!
Dad wanted me to have a bower bulge on the bonnet. my reaction to that?
NO!!!!!!
I will have to either make a replacement intake manifold or mod one.
Unless Jimbo's is lower and flatter than what I have?
Then I removed the intake manifold to get a nasty surprise!!

Image

Yes that black stuff came out of the intake manifold.

Image

I pray the engine is not in bad condition even though I did hear it running.

I was thinking that I might not be able to fit the a/c pump or even the alternator
above the water pump, then I had a thought if I removed a little of the metal
frame behind that headlight I can get either one of them. In the below photo
I have removed a little, just enough for the moment and roughly.
I will make a better and more professional job of it when the engine is out again.

Image

Yes the radiator and a/c condenser are both in, and they look like they have seen
better days. The original rad fans are far too wide to fit in there.
Looks like I need a set of slimline ones.

Okay before my health went down hill fast and the side effects of my med's made it hard to walk
let alone work on the car.

The front engine mount off the Voyager's engine before modification.

Image

Image

Dad took a large cutting disk to it but it still needs a little more cutting before it can be used.
Pictures of that coming soon.

The engine has come back out the brackets marked and measurements made, ready for the
alterations. Photos and diagrams with details will come later.

Image

With the engine removed you can see how rough the bit I cut out of the back the headlight
frame is! I will tidy that up soon and a fresh bit of paint to prevent the rust.

Image

So I'm waiting on the ECU coming back with the skim removed.
I need to purchase a rear exhaust manifold and air intake manifold similar to Jimbo's.
What's stopping me buying them, 1} sellers who oinly ship to USA addresses 2.) Lack of money
Well I still have things to do on and for the car with out having to spend a penny!

Ok heres a question for you apart from connectors for the pipes,
what is the difference between the fuel pumps for a 2.0L 4 pot Chrysler neon,
And a 3.3L V6 Chrysler Voyager?

I checked various ebay items, contacted a US neon owner doing the V6 swap and a UK mechanic.

The answer is none as they bothe have the same flow rate and bar pressure.
You would have thought the V6 would have needed to be more powerfull!!
That luckily means no need to mod the tank to take a different fuel pump.

The ecu is back but as I haven't sorted out the wiring or the engines fuel
lines I have no way to test it!!
The fuel pipe has been kinked so add to that it's corroded, thats another job
to do for the MOT Test.

Not much done I finally gave up and removed the electrical harness.
I will deal with it in the morning, and start labelling whats what.
The joy of wiring digrams this time for a Voyager.

The 'O' ring and injector filter kit arrived this morning,
and I've just purchased a new intake manifold gasket set.
From amount £13.26 GBP To amount $21.00 USD
That includes postage which is cheaper than the local dealer.

Some sellers on ebay either charge £45 for gasket and £5 postage,
or £5 for gasket and £45 for postage, and it's getting worse!
