good luck..

Just a quick break from the pics to say a bit more about the car.
It was registered on August the 1st 1976 but has a build date of April 1976, the VIN number puts it as one of the first 50 cars built in RHD, it still retains its 4 speed gearbox and plain black trim. I've been told it spent many years in a shipping container but have been unable to find out why, the only thing I know for sure is it was first registered in Sheffield.
I spent years looking for a decent, early TR7 but gave up and decided the only way to get the car I wanted was to build it myself! I've already spent far more than the car will ever be worth but its been a childhood dream to own one of these cars, this pic is that started it all, my uncles brand new TR7 and a young lad who thought it was the coolest car ever...............

This is great stuff. Many a less patient person would have run away from the amount of welding you're putting into that so well done for making sure that this one won't be falling apart any time soon.

That photo is a real blast from the past! A Jag, a Cortina and an Anglia (I think) in the background.

The car in the background is indeed a Anglia 105e, a 1964 deluxe. Much to my mine and my brothers embarrasement my dad kept it until 1980 when he was forced to scrap it due to terminal corrosion. I clearly remember being very envious of our neighbours Datsun 120y and my Dad insisting on calling it "jap crap" at any change he could even though it drove past us on a rainy morning as we were yet again walking to school as the Anglia had failed to start.................
Sadly the whole street in the pic has now gone and the pub is now a fast food takeaway.

Looking good, other thing about the photo is how futuristic the TR looks compared to the other cars.

I've had mine for almost 20 years now, fortunately mine (a 1980 DHC) was rust proofed when new which has limited the corrosion to a few areas (mostly seams ) which have only needed local welding.

Enjoy it, they are good to drive, the only thing which I found wanting initially was the brakes, I have now installed a V8 as well though, which does transform them into a superb car.
