Re: What would you call an ODD BALL tyre size?
I've got 15" steelies on my Astra and I can get part worns from a local tyre place for £15 a corner without too much trouble. Are the tyres the correct profile? Avoid the "fast fit" chains and try a local independent tyre place. You will get a better service and possibly a better price.

Re: Today I have been ?????????????? to my classic
The brakes on my Triumph Dolomite are virtually non-existent - again! It had reconditioned calipers in September. I've just unbolted the master cylinder and sure enough, the seals have gone. It was last done in 2012 so I've had less than 3 years out of them. A replacement seal kit has been ordered f...

Re: '80 & '81 Austin Morris Princess and a '75 Renault 6TL
How about keeping the existing light units and fitting LED bulbs instead? Use coloured bulbs for the tail, stop and indicator lights. For the indicators you will need to use load resistors for each bulb or fit a suitable electronic relay.

Re: What Car did you Pass up and Always Regret
In 1993 I came across a clean low mileage (48k I think) Mk1 Astra. At the time I was after a MK2 Cavalier in GL trim (velour upholstery and a full set of instruments) so I gave it a miss. Maybe I should've got the Astra instead. My current modern is a MK4 Astra so I ended up getting an Astra 20 year...

Welcome to the forum John. The pub meets aren't totally dead. I've seen the article in the mag too. I've seen quite a few 90s Mercs starting to rust. Your's isn't a classic yet but give it a few more years and it will be... The W123 was the best car Mercedes ever made with the W126 (2nd generation S...

Re: Car insurance for Hillman Minx
Joining a club will help but the OP's daughter is going to have to bite the bullet at least for the first year. Lack of experience and no no-claims will go against her. The classic insurers I can think of are Footman James, Peter Best, Adrian Flux, Peter James, Chris Knott, Lancaster, Carole Nash an...

Re: Mini Mayfair Fix Up
Have you thought about using spire clips instead of captive nuts for your fibreglass front end? I remember Mike Brewer (yes, he of Wheeler Dealers fame) once saying "everyone should have a Mini at some point in their lives. I had a 1978 Mini 850 back in 1993 so I've been there, etc. The most fun you...
