Re: Newbie seeks advice on potential first classic!
Seems a lot of money, the Practical Classic price guide gives the top price as £3250. I wouldn't regard any of those changes as substantial, in any case period modifications are always acceptable. I'd be more worried about the different shades of paint.

Re: Mail order tyres for a 1962 car.
From your name I assume the car is a Goggomobil or something similar. Does it have to be crossply? I think radials of a similar size were used on BMC 1100s of that era.

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70
I would be very careful about buying a secondhand electric car until you know how long the batteries last and the cost of replacement as you may well find, as some early adopters already have, that the cost approaches that of a new car as the makers have you over a barrel and would rather sell you a...

Re: Austin A35 Project
A couple of years or so ago I saw and Austin, can't remember whether it was an A30 or an A35, into which had been fitted a 1275cc A series and an automatic gearbox, for its disabled owner.

Re: Microwave..
It makes sense, however it's not a very efficient solution. The guts of a microwave run on DC so you would be inverting 24 DC to 230 VAC then stepping it up to whatever voltage the magnetron requires with a DC-DC converter. You have also to consider the DC current draw from the vehicle battery. 800 ...

Re: breakdown truck
It is a Rover 800 series. The top of the range model was badged Sterling in the UK market. A DVLA check on the registration number shows it to be a March 1994 model and it has the 2.7 litre V6. They are extremely rare now but were really nice luxury cars back in the day. It looks as though it only w...
