FORD ESCORT 1979 1300CC 4 DOOR
Hi, Wondering what a reasonable price to ask for my Escort off road due to no3 piston rings breaking ..body reasonable for the year....gearbox no noise...axle quiet ....clutch fine...new water pump....break master cylinder replaces 2 years ago... front tyres new...back very good.....rad no leaks.......

I have a couple of trolley jacks so perhaps one of those will suffice to support the bell housing..

Will be removing the engine on the above ...fairly soon borrow a crane from a friend....have done this before years ago but cannot remember after all the bolts are removed do i have to support the gearbox which i will leave in situ....the head is already off....

The piston is damaged and the broken ring has taken a small gauge in the cylinder wall at the top i am hoping that by staggering the piston rings the compression will be okay.....i will of course replace all the rings and check all pistons for damage ..the company that i contacted for new piston/rin...

Land Rover has in my opinion a reputation which is not deserved what with no rust prevention ..broken half shafts
