Re: British world cars

I was surprised to see a number of P76's a few years back when I was in Toowoomba. They looked like daily drivers as well. I didn't see any Tasmans or Kimberleys, though I do have strong recollections of these cars. Our neighbour had a red 1972 Kimberley that was in showroom condition. I remember it...

1988 Morgan Plus Four on my afternoon walk today, in almost the same place as the aforementioned Consul yesterday afternoon.

And, I forgot my camera!

Re: Favourite car my dad (mum) owned

All the cars my father owned when I was a child were rubbish: 1955 Hillman Minx BH 4113 (bought early 1976) 1976 Toyota Corolla Eastate HQ 2406 (bought new later that year when said Hillman became inoperable) 1974 Holden Kingswood SW, manual with the 202 engine HG 834 (bought 1980) 1982 Datsun Blueb...

Re: What vehicles did your friends parents drive?

Firstly, neighbours' cars: My friends Dean and Peter's parents had an assortment of Datsun 180Bs, a Ford Falcon XC and a Mazda 929 estate. All were manual (including the Falcon with its three-speed column-shift) because the mother hated automatics. My friends' uncle, who lived with them, had a Chrys...

Re: Any future for Vauxhall?

I reckon there is, yes. Vauxhall has a good current product range but could do with changing the public perception that its cars are ok as fleet and motorway fodder, but are not quite at the level of Ford or VAG. With some engineering/marketing work, this could change. What a lot of people don't rea...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

Mark II Ford Consul driving along a road to the SW of my village yesterday afternoon.

This part of Kent sees many classic cars driving about in the spring and summer so I will take my camera out on my afternoon walks to try to capture some.

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

1968 Citroen DS Safari not 500m from my home. It is used by a local artist as a daily driver because he needs a spacious estate.

Re: Introductions

Hello, everyone. I'm Mark Totty and while I've been reading Practical Classics for years, I have only just this minute joined the forum. As much as I would like to, I don't own a classic, but drive a six-month-old Renault Clio dCi 88. When I do get my classic, it will be a 1966 Lincoln Continental C...
