Re: Will classics ever become affordable again?

You need the speculators and cars worth daft money to ensure there's a ready supply of aftermarket parts and interest in older cars. Consider how easy an MG B is to keep in fresh bodywork now compared to, say 20 years ago. Consider how easy it is to restore a Mini that would not have been financiall...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

Poor Reliant, they got a bum deal. Scimitar, SS1, Regal, Rialto, Robin, Fox, Kitten, Rebel, Ant... so much more to the company than some farcical bridesgroom novelty vehicle.

Re: In the workshop at present

Thank you for the information on the roof construction. Nice to see the Javelin back in the workshop, I enjoyed reading your updates on that one.

Re: Princess, 414, Corsa, 6TL, etc. - 06/02 Update

Today I had a little bit of time spare so I did these things: Swapped the Lotus alloys for Princess steels. No more tyres rubbing on arches which makes it easier to drive around the yard, which I did, several times Fitted the missing side repeater Hunted for the live wire (battery disconnected) and ...

Re: In the workshop at present

How is the centre panel normally trimmed? I'm guessing that it's a treated canvas stretched over the frame, I just can't figure out how you then resolve the seam between it and the steel side sections.

Re: Princess, 414, Corsa, 6TL, etc. - 05/02 Update

Colour of the pump diaphragm is something of a moot point now as the Renault carb is effectively scrap. The air corrector jet I bought isn't brass, it's brass plated, and it melted when an attempt to solder it to the emulsion tube (which is brass, and didn't melt) was made. Since the tube is impossi...

They're quite good videos and fairly informative too. Surprisingly solid little car you've got.

Re: Princess, 414, Corsa, 6TL, etc. - 01/02 Fleet Update

Today I got the Renault's choke cable fitted, finally. It's been a bit of a faff and I've had several attempts at this only to have the cable vanish once it was pushed into the guide in the dashboard. Today, with the help of a knitting needle, I bested it! http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab16/vol...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

 *Falls off seat*. ...Not just any Rebel but one whose owner has actually informed the DVLA of its change of engine capacity! Well done someone for keeping up with the paperwork, many wouldn't have bothered when 750s are easier to get and look similar to the untrained eye to the original 700...
