Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 27/02 Princess

Oh, but everybody needs to know a Dave. Makes the slow days entertaining. GHT doesn't know what he's missing, I've got bodyroll for days and all the giffers want to chat to me. Except that one giffer who wouldn't believe it was my car and insisted it belonged to my parents, that was very stran...

Re: Kadett D Astra Mk1 Restoration New Videos

Just popping in to say it's me that's mentioned the headlining on your video so this is where to find me if you need pictures or info on how I did it. Very easy job compared to the other stuff you've been tackling, you'll have no bother with it.

Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 27/02 Princess

Lots of useful info there :) I'll get it all degreased and re-assess the leak situation when I've actually used the car a bit. For a while I did get it down to one tiny spot from the gearbox and nothing else and that was tolerable if annoying for those with block paved drives (er... like me now... b...

Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 25/02 Princess

@gazza82: Unfortunately my boot lock woes aren't the usual, the leaning, prying, wiggling, driving over bumps, etc, have not dislodged it. Did get it open but in a rather more drastic way than usual, as you'll see in this update. Luckily, no damage done. Enjoyed the story, poor well-meaning Dave! @T...

Re: Will classics ever become affordable again?

Here's one I saw in 2013 (the vinyls are a bit misleading if you're trying to date it from the photograph). I doubt I'll come across another in the UK unless I really go out of my way to find one. It was larger than I expected in person too and look surprisingly roomy inside. http://i845.photobucket...

Re: In the workshop at present

That really does highlight what you had to contend with there. What an odd construction too. The rear end proportions on this car are really nice, the shapes are just right.

Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 25/02 Princess

  It's satisfying hearing people express surprise at seeing a Princess and then confusion when they try and pin down exactly what it is I've done. They know it's not factory, they just can't always figure out why. I'm really eager to get it to one of the shows the club attends so I ...

Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 24/02 Princess

Princess progress again, folks. First thing to illustrate is how much lower than the number plate the sump is. I'm really happy with how much lower the car looks on the front than it really is and the number plate location is a big part of that visual trickery. Rust is just some surface where the pa...

Re: Will classics ever become affordable again?

There's a few vids of bathtub Nashes on Youtube that show just how big and floaty and just generally serene they are. They must have seemed as outlandish in America as the DS in France, the Princess in the UK or the early Tatra cars in the Czech Republic (or Czechoslovakia as I think it was back the...
