Re: Grinder discs, which ones are best?
I use these on a very regular basis and from experience the known branded products although being more expensive far outlast the cheap rubbish ones - my bodyshop supplier currently sends me 'Sealey' branded ones - cost twice as much as the cheaper no name stuff but last four times longer

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..
Here you go John - I already know that these are a 'nearly there' for you - but this is a rare species in this format - wants work but it looks sensible money and he is willing to take a bid on it - that would leave you several £k in your budget - bit of welding + paint , interior would tidy up and ...

Re: breakdown truck
John - really good well restored B's are now pitched at £10 - £20K with classic MG specialists - has for the rubber bumpered yellow one that you posted - personally I would not touch it unless it was half the money that it's advertised at - the doors are mismatched on paint shade for starters and ru...

Re: breakdown truck
I think you misunderstood where I was coming from John - the car for it's quality was under priced and marketed in the right place was every inch of a £10k car

Re: In the workshop at present
Eventually getting to a starting point and ready for the new mounting to be spotwelded in - once done I can trim the sill box section and trail the fit - everything at this point will be clamped / clipped into place to allow for adjustment - with the sill in place I can form the A post repair over t...

Re: In the workshop at present
B post removal undertaken once I had taken lots of measurements / offsets etc - plus I also have the bracing to act as jig location - the B post will be salvaged with some repairs to the lower sections - rear body to chassis mounting point is also a subject of the scrap pile

Re: In the workshop at present
The lower section of the A post is available as a repair section but this takes much fettling to obtain a good fit - all Jupiters were handbuilt cars hence no two are the same either - the sill box section attaches to the bulkhead return panel and to the rear frame of the car which are under the A &...

Re: In the workshop at present
With the mounting point fitted I could put the car up on stands but care is required although a strong chassis they do flex so an additional pair of stands is used under the centre of the car - bulkhead return repair welded in & dressed / cleaned back
