What you are looking for is a tube like gizmo that has a shoe lace sticking out of it. If you see it, keep it well clear of a cigarette or naked flame, they tend to have, a short fuse.

Now I know why loads of Beetle pictures showed up when I Googled VW 1600. That was the only badge on the car. It stirred my curiosity when I saw the tail lights. My next door neighbour, where I lived in London, had a BMW 2002 that had similar tail lights.
