Did you take any more pictures of the cavalcade? I went up in the Matra on the Sunday, but haven't got any pictures of this momentous event :)

Most people who didn't compete as part of a club were in the pre- and post-1972 saloon cars or the post-1972 sports cars above and below 2000cc, which weren't handicapped, or the Franco-Britannique Challenge, which was. Try cleaning the idle jet. At light throttle openings it contributes quite a bit, up to 3000 or so rpm and a partial blockage can cause that sort of hesitation.

Difficult to say whether they were trying to rip you off or just plain incompetent. Either way. I'd go elsewhere next time.
