Of course back in the nineties, parts were not so easy for us to get hold of.No ebay for us etc.Items that seemed impossible to obtain back then maybe was not to be the case if you knew where to look.So, things looked to be worse than they actually were.Still, nice motor all the same.

Reading the Montego article in the mag brought back some memories of when we owned one of these cars back in the day.Some of the issues I think I can remember we had such as the bad front wheel bearing, tyres cost 70 quid each,replacement of the ECU black box.Some issue with the auto choke I think a...

Just wondering if there was a reason why the guys choose to go to the Ford plant in Genk first, instead of the Volvo plant In Ghent which is nearer according to the map? :geek:

In a SAAB, you wouldn't be be able to get the distributor cap off if the engine was the other way round. To get round this, they made the engine revolve the other way, then designed a clutch which could be changed in 20 minutes if you stopped for a cup of tea. There is no right and wrong way round....

Why did Neil have to splice in the new crank sensor wire on the lovely Saab ? Was it a universal type? Would it not have had a plug on it to unplug, and plug in the new one?
