Re: Modern 1.8 Zaffira coolant loss - any ideas I`m stumped

I would look at the radiator. My '98 Alfa suffered from this and turned out the rad was corroded behind the a/c condenser unit so couldn't be seen. When we took it out, I was surprised the bottom of the core hadn't already fallen off! Most modern rads have a life of 6-7 years. Mine had three from ne...

Re: RRC losing coolant (sent to the admin email account by britfan101)

My old Alfa 156 used to lose coolant and it turned out is was the rad. Because of the a/c condenser you couldn't see the front bottom edge of the rad, but when we took it out, most of the fins were corroded away to nothing. I never saw a drip or puddle so we assumed that it lost coolant as the press...

Re: Austin A30 Seven

The 4.2 diff was fitted to the A40 MkII as well so that might help the search although prices are creeping up .. but not as fast as 3.9s ... or the rarer 3.7s which are getting very expensive! 3.5s are around from the Riley 1.5 but are rocking horse p**! Worth fitting the EN17 half shafts from the S...

Re: In case you haven't seen the news...

I imagine Mike Brewer thinks HE IS Wheeler Dealers .. If they are planning to cut down on the actual mechanical side of the programme, pretty it won't last long .. proper petrol heads will switch off. Will be interesting to listen to some of the questions being asked at the Restoration Show when the...

Re: mobile phones.... again

Try giffgaff .. for £10 a month (goodybag!) you get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and a pretty reasonable amount of data. It sits on the O2 network but is run by volunteers so no staffing costs, just the cost of the infrastructure. You also get free texts and free call between giffgaff users whic...

Re: Vulgalour's Vehicles - 27/02 Princess

@gazza82: Unfortunately my boot lock woes aren't the usual, the leaning, prying, wiggling, driving over bumps, etc, have not dislodged it. Did get it open but in a rather more drastic way than usual, as you'll see in this update. Luckily, no damage done. Enjoyed the story, poor well-meaning Dave! I...
