Re: Overseas restoration workshops

Going back to the Polish resto, it was Keith Adams who sent his early Series 1 Rover SD1 to Poland for restoration. It even briefly featured in an episode of Wreck Rescue.

If you send the DVLA a completed V888 and a fiver, they will give you the full details of all the previous registered keepers.

Re: The misadventures of a fatbloke and 13/60 Herald named P

Aldi is a good place for tools. I bagged myself one of the compressors which ad been reduced from £89.99 to £49.99. At that price it was far too good to miss and they don't hang around forever. Re: Mgb misfiring and spitting fire!!!

Always check the ignition before moving on to the fuel system. There are some poor quality ignition parts (not just rotor arms) so make sure you get decent quality parts. Yes, electronic ignition can fail so it is a good idea to have a set of points and condenser to hand to get going again.

Another classic friendly garage in Halifax, West Yorkshire

I discovered this garage right under my nose. They have just done the subframe mounts on my Triumph Dolomite to make it usable again and they did a great job. Other classics that have passed through their hands recently include a Triumph Stag (I have come across the owner a couple of times) and a MK...

You're right about the Rangies. There's one near to me which hasn't moved for at least 4 years. I dread to think what it is like underneath...
