Re: National drive it day
I was marshalling on the hill at Prescott yesterday so the Datsun was in the car park. Apart from the competitors..... there were some nice old cars parked up in the public car park when I went for a gawp at lunch time, including a special edition Escort Cosworth, an MGA (on steroids with a V8 I thi...

Re: British Motor Museum (aka Gaydon) - collection centre
I think I know why some may "take swipes" at owners of MG's, Minors, Minis etc - I reckon its envy. Either because they want a car like that or because they have another car that they cant get bits for and wish parts were as available as for an Minor, MG, TR etc .....

British Motor Museum (aka Gaydon) - collection centre
I have added a couple of pics of the plastic Mini in another thread. A few more I took yesterday: WP_20160319_007.jpg Where else will you see a workshop with a D Type next to a Fiesta - separated by 60 years etc. WP_20160319_010.jpg WP_20160319_011.jpg WP_20160319_012.jpg And 3 pics of 2 "Dolomite" ...

WP_20160319_003.jpg WP_20160319_004.jpg WP_20160319_005.jpg Snaps of the plastic bodied "Mini" in Gaydons collection centre. Made in Venezuala by Cord. Just thought John might like that although I expect he knows all about it. Nice detailing - lots of bits are recognisable as Mini bits, but the bod...

HRCR Open Day @ Gaydon on Sat 16 Jan
There were lots of stands for many of the rally & tour organisers, and loads of cars to be seen in the conference halls and car parks. A celebration of 50 (and 52) years since the Minis success (?) at Monte Carlo Rally. In attendance were non other than Paddy Hopkirk, Willy Cave & Tony Mason (sorry ...

Re: Datsun Bluebird 910 estate - front struts
Thanks as ever John - I haven't been able to access Nissan4u.com for a while, and still cant so I will try another browser (just hangs trying to load, no http or time out error etc). I believe that the struts on my car do not have inserts at all, just pistons, rods, valves or whatever within the out...

Re: Datsun Bluebird 910 estate - front struts
Thanks again all. One strut had a lot less fluid to drain out than other and damper action felt jerky before refill. Both struts thankfully were clean and shiny inside and leak free. I have refilled each strut with SAE10 fork oil, and action is now much smoother. Fingers crossed that it is all bette...

Re: Datsun Bluebird 910 estate - front struts
Many thanks all who have advised. I really value the guidance given. Further research suggests that the inserts quoted by KYB for my car (ie those correctly for the estate and not the saloon /coupe ones I have) are cross referenced to others by Sachs, Monroe, Boge etc but then so are the (too long) ...
