Re: Paper Tax Disc To Be Scrapped

Our local equivalent of the Tax Disc is the "Registration Label" and it is also to be abolished from January 1st. The irony of the registration label was that it always came attached to your registration renewal. So you could "forget" to pay your registration fees and still put a valid sticker on th...

Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle

Thanks guys. I missed out on a set on eBay last week that were only a short drive away. Widened steelies pop up online fairly regularly, so I am not fussed. I should avoid spending money on wheels until I get the car back anyway. A mate gave me a pair of 93 Suzuki Swift GTi seats that sit nicely ont...

Re: Bnicho's 1971 Morris Mini Moke.

I saw that Moke in your thread.

I don't think I could ever let my Moke go. It's so much fun. I thoroughly recommend them. :)

Ideally one day I'd like to have a bush trips Moke (this one) and an ex-Aussie Army Moke restored to original military specs.

Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle

We are pretty spoiled here with a few choices of good classic car insurers. Even the mainstream insurers here are far less penny-pinching than insurers in the UK. I love this car and I'm keen to see her repaired properly. My kids ask me every few days when Olive is coming home from "Car Hospital". :...

Re: Bnicho's 1971 Morris Mini Moke.

Wow, has it really been two years since I updated this thread!?! The autobox finally went kaput a year ago. I fitted a manual MG Metro engine and box I had kicking around. Before I fitted it I changed the final drive ratio to 3.94:1 to suit the bigger wheels. The 3.94 was hard to find. I searched al...

Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle

I had a bit of a hiccup with Olive a couple of months ago. Beetle meets concrete pole. Pole wins. :( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v662/bnicho/IMAG1339_zpsa57373a5.jpg I took it to my favourite VW specialist for a quote on repairs and claimed on my insurance. The insurance coughed up for the dam...

Re: Classic daily?

Bits for the two Colts (Mitsubishi's) you posted are still reasonably easy to obtain in Aus. The liftback in your early post was sold here as the second generation Mitsubishi Lancer and the two door hardtop in your pics was the Mitsubishi Scorpion. However for a daily car do you really want to risk ...
