Re: PC Deputy Editor

Speaking for myself Matt Jones always came across as being a bit like a fish out of water with Practical Classics. I have nothing against the chap but he had this thing for liking relatively newish cars and was not content unless he was shoehorning bigger engines in, personally not something I want...

Re: Remember Stephen King's Christine?

Damn - I never thought of that!! :( A few years too late now though!! Maybe next time :-) Right now we have a nice line going in freaking out Dr Who fans with the turret of the OT - leave the vehicle closed up, wait till a likely looking person wanders past and the the turret starts to track them - ...

Re: Introductions

Hi folks, Glad to find a replacement PC forum back up on-line! I rather missed the old one when it vanished suddenly.. Those who were there might recall me - I was the nutter who went from one extreme to the other in terms of classics!! :D Currently at home I have a 1963 Saab Sport - in the garage i...

Re: ford galaxy

To be honest I've no idea!! I suspect the VW versions probably will have a higher value because of the "German engineering" that the sales people from VW and BMW have inculcated into the UK Populace. I can recall, though, body shells coming into the Final Assemble areas with zero panel gaps one side...

Re: ford galaxy

Interestingly no one has pointed out that the original models were all built in the same plant by the same people - it being a joint venture between Ford and VW!! :) Always made me laugh to hear people say they had had bought the VW model and not the Ford "because the German engineering is so much b...

Re: Remember Stephen King's Christine?

When I saw "Christine" at the Cinema I owned a DS 23 Safarai. The car park for the cinema was one of the old type with a spiral ramp linking the floors. We came out of the cinema at the end of the film late at night to find just two cars on the floor I was parked on - mine and a mini a bit further d...

Re: Up Goes the Fuel...

Fuel costs are starting to hit home - and hard... The Bentley managed 22 mpg driven softly so I can't complain there (both Saabs are off the road for restoration, the Sport because it came from a barn and the 95 because the local morons decided to trash it in the front garden so fuel is irrelevant f...
