Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Regarding the headlining - it's good news that it's flattening out OK with wetting and clamping. However, I do suspect that in time it will fall again, e.g. in the winter, when the interior is likely to get damp. (or for that matter, the summer, given how wet it is this year!) I think what I'd do is...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

That oil feed bar arrangement reminds me of the early Ford OHC engines in the '70s, which were famous for camshaft failure for exactly that reason - blocked holes in the oil feed tube. It killed many a camshaft, including the one I had in my 2-litre Capri at the time. Those who knew used to simply c...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

I get the Tesla and LEZ-compliant issue, but if you seriously consider a Volvo 850 or phase 1 V70, let me know, as I have a V70 which fully fits all your criteria except the LEZ one. Mine's not for sale, but i can tell you a lot about them, I've had mine for 11 years and it's superb, massively good ...

Re: Austin A35 Project

but if I stay with the levers they are easy enough to replace. Yes, they are, sort of. However, my experience with my Midget (same shockers as yours) was that replacement lever arm shock absorbers are a nightmare unless you go for brand new ones - the quality of so-called re-manufactured ones is sh...

Re: Microwave..

Agreed - Rich, we need more details, does it have to be 12V, or 24V, or is using an inverter (to provide 230V AC) an acceptable way to go? I'd have thought the latter, but if you can clarify then we know exactly what we're looking for. Cheers!

Re: breakdown truck

Just an observation. Television companies hire their cars along with period props like telephone kiosks, letter boxes and other street furniture. Morse's Jaguar, Foyle's Wolseleys and other period dramas are all hired. Most owners are happy for just a small fee if the resulting publicity gets them ...

Re: recommendations for a compressor

I'm not up on what's good and what's not right now so can't give you a recommendation. However, personally I'd not worry too much about the tank capacity, what's really important is the CFM in free air - that's the amount of compressed air it can deliver per minute. Far more important, as some air t...

Re: FORD CAPRI 3.0S RESTORATION

Aha!

Welcome back Chap - looks like another great resto project there, quite a machine that. Looking forward to seeing another superbly executed job. How's that Lotus Cortina you did? Do you still have it or was it for someone else?

Cheers! :D :D
