Re: Well Brassed off
Give us a break, m8 - it's hard enough to drive when pissed, let alone write a bl**dy note explaining what it was like.
Re: Top Gear
It is even MORE cringeworthy how 5th Gear has tried to blatantly copy Top Gear in recent years (and failed totally). have to agree with this - 5th Gear does not work for me at all. I think it says it all that my kids who are not into cars will happily watch Top Gear but would not even consider 5th ...

Re: Loss of power in Triumph 6 cylinder
he had to retard his ignition by about 30 degrees for smooth running. I backed mine from 10 degrees BTDC to about 25 So you've advanced it by a further 15 degrees then. ;) Oops - you're right, I adjusted further BEFORE TDC than AFTER, so it's advanced. Went to a local show yesterday about 30 miles ...

Re: Great day at last
Well I enjoyed it and was great to see GB do something well for once and not mess it up like we will do the olympics etc. So nice totty and some even nicer cars. Well said. I watched a few highlights, including the Aston drive. It was interesting, good to watch in small doses and raised a lot of ca...

Well, ask yourself - do you put gallons or litres in it? there you are then...palmerbew wrote:Did the Marina ever go metric?
Seriously: it's be like Triumphs of the same era: mostly imperial UNF, but with metric brake fittings.

Re: Mazda 323 1989 Spares
Is this the pop-up headlamp model - the 323F? If so I had a black one around 1992 and loved it. A superb driver and well kitted-out - a real flyer. I still have a set of front pads and an oil filter which I never got round to fitting, if you wanted them they'll go for the price of postage? http://im...

Re: Polishing - why do they do it ?
It's up there with why do people go to shows anyway? If we want our cars to be seen, and admired, then why not clean them? I'll never be a concours entrant, picking dirt out of my tyre treads doesn't really appeal, but I'll wash my car before tomorrow's show, and on arrival I'll clean the dead flies...

Thank you, your Royal Highness!
I reckon Prince William has done more for the classic movement in one small drive down the mall in an Aston Martin than any amount of Drive It Days or other hype. I must invite him to our next show... What a beautiful car, and what a lovely way to display it. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff202...

Re: Does anyone else think Drive It day is stupid?
Since Humbug Brown trod on rolling free tax, some of us still tax our non free tax classics for just six months and many of us tax from May to October. Having an event, such as Drive it Day, so close to the end of April, means that if you want to take part, you have to lose a months road tax. FBHVC...
