Re: Suspension Strut Repair?

I recall something about these old Stellars having some Ford bits that were compatable, maybe even that they were Cortina clones in some way. I think mini cabs around here had lives extended by using Cortina (Pinto I think) running gear. Maybe, just maybe there are Ford struts that will be good enou...

Re: Post pictures of your pride and joy

51.7% of the owners of Austin Maxis used their Maxis to pull a caravan. Sorry - spotted this and cant resist posting a Maxi for sale nearby Newcastle upon Tyne. Not looked closely but it looks worthy from a drive by, and only 19000 miles aleged: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/uvl/popup.jsp?curren...

Re: headlining cleaning

Interested in this too. I have heard of the emulsion paint trick (from 40 years ago). However remember that once you emulsion it there is no going back - you cannot remove the emulsion. Sadly my old Datsun Bluebird estate (that JPB saw @ Ryhope) has a darkish blue velour type headlining - that I wil...

Re: Gateshead City Council give 90 days notice to all!!

Exactly. TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment - 1984) legislation is there to protect such circumstances. Basically it says that if your job role is moved (outsourced) to another company, then you have a right to move to that new company along with the role - and that you get to ...

Re: Le Jog 2011

Any idea of a rough timescale for them reaching JOG anyone, I might head over to take a peek if I can get away. Thats easy! 10.17am. http://www.heroevents.eu/Events/LeJog/le_jog_2011/spectator_info/ Looks like there is a test there too - well worth a peep to see older cars being flung around cones ...

Re: Le Jog 2011

I had to chicken out of being in orange this year, but made it to wander around the Gosforth Park hotel car park this morning. Lots of cars looking well, including a Peugeot 403 & a 404 which are very rare for UK events. Star car for me was an immaculate (but of course dirty) Morris 1800S "land crab...

Re: Tyres "perished"

I too would not risk old tyres on my car, and I am scared of cheapies (ie tyres with makes I havent heard of) as the ones I have experienced gripped poorly in rain, adverse conditions etc. My trusted tyre dealer suggests that "quality makes" generally perish less & last better than cheap tyre makes....

Re: interior value?

I think I agree with John. But its your car etc so you need to do anything you have to so as to keep it up & running & in use. I think that the car looks wonderful with its original interior, which is likely to have little monetary value even to the owner of another Super Minx. Bench seats are just ...
