Re: Something a little different 'bloggy' & not quite classic!

With a 2 week 'break' in the gite season, we finally managed to use The Jalopy 'in anger' for the first time this year! Decided to head south, destination Haute Pyrenees 8-) The Jalopy munched the miles happily, did 12 days away & only on the first night did we have electric hook up. The rest of it ...

Re: T5 - Another 'not yet a classic' Bloggy.

Well; its been an entertaining few months with this 'banger' My mobile mechanic came over to fit a new top mount & also, having diagnosed a knackered ball-joint on that side, I'd got a suspension 'wishbone' for him to fit as well. Whilst doing it the drive shaft came out along with the bearing...

Re: Autodoc online car parts.

I did get my refund. But, guess what...... I recently ordered some suspension arms for my T5 from another French website. When they arrived they were in, yep, an AUTODOC box! FFS  I now know this company 'hides' behind at least 4 separate websites!!! To add insult to injury, the fecking thi...

Re: T5 - Another 'not yet a classic' Bloggy.

Looking ahead now to Controle Technique time in August. I recall Marc, the tester telling me that the left headlamp only just satisfied requirements, reflector going home. Both lamps were 2nd hand from a French Volvo forum I used and were cheap, so not complaining. Also the rear right brake 'dust sh...

Re: Something a little different 'bloggy' & not quite classic!

The Jalopy now has a fresh ticket, so 2 yrs worth  The ball joints were just the smaller ones of the 2 each side. The brake pads were defo' the issue. The imbalance was 11% v 31% . With the new ones fitted we got 11% v 12%. https://i.ibb.co/QdDRsVJ/Iveco-Brake-Pads.jpg Tatty and basically fa...

Re: Something a little different 'bloggy' & not quite classic!

The Jalopy has spent the winter resting, with a little heater on frost setting and everything drained down. Went in for French version of MOT last week, FAIL! It spat anti-freeze all over the place from the overflow pipe, which pissed off the tester :? Rear brakes uneven. Balljoints worn out,...
