Onto the next things then. The underside & a blowing exhaust. By 'feel' the 'blow' was on top of the silencer. Very little room between it and the floor pan to attempt any repair. Once home I moved onto to getting the new toilet 'flap' thing fitted. This meant removing the bowl. The flap mechanism and pedal are attached to the underside of the bowl. 8-10 screws hold it on. I shall report back once I know whether I'm about to make a big mistake!
