I use axle stand often. I always shake car sideways before even considering getting under it ( just in case it isn't supported correctly or weight is off balance. I tend to use jack where possible 'locked' in lift position but just touching car not load bearing. or and sometimes as well as any hell ...

took my log book .MOT and insurance to local post office. now tax exempt ..yippee as my :D v8 attracted high tax level and was off road for 6 months at a time ( not rich ) so maybe it can get out on road now and again.. not too far as it is a wee bit thirsty lol.

good point as value is grossly exaggerated.. wonder if it's for insurance and includes damage to showroom etc.even so ..best price I am aware of for a 72 mexico in perfect condition .low mileage.proven history would be around £30k .

just watched a video posted by surrey police. shows land rover breaking into showroom and a ford escort mexico 1972 being stolen ( towed away) damn ..and to think I had one of these in daytona yellow in 1972 too! ( kicks self for not keeping it) this was 2nd off production line after battery relocat...

used this once when I had an old Renault sprayed. it was carried out very very quickly with face mask /filter etc. ( not by me ) it really DOES need an air supply line slightly above atmospheric .this is as the very fine droplets that can be carried in air but invisible to eye ca be sucked into lung...

aware many land rovers are imported or exported to USA as 'old' models to try and circumvent emissions etc. customs officers are very hot on this and check very carefully chassis numbers etc . anything suspicious is not given benefit of doubt and simply crushed. dozens so far already met a sad fate....

might be an idea to check out local classic car clubs .especially for that marque. members often pass along information and tips plus can even offer advise for free . even known a few odd small part to be given away to another owner of a classic car. most are nice friendly folk. though I know of one...

far too many. most driving past me in opposite direction though many are laid up in front drives etc rusting peacefully. last one was an MGB in green on A1306 dagenham as I passed it doing a graceful 60mph. otherwise I have to behave as wife hates me suddenly pointing out almost everyday an classic ...
