Re: Incoming MIG welder query

In my case, I was taught welding in tea breaks, lunches etc by someone that could. His welding was way, way better than mine. Even so, I've decided to post an example of a bit of ally welding I did a couple of years ago. Going off topic a bit, as it is TIG-welded. I know it's TIG welded but if I ca...

Incoming MIG welder query

Hi all As I approach half a century I've decided it's about time I learnt to weld my own stuff. I have played with MIG welders in the past but never seriously took the time to sit down and learn how to do it correctly. So I have decided to either join my local college night classes or failing that s...

Re: my latest project, looking for history or info

Hi Bob I used to run a mini 1293 with a single 1.5in HIF4 SU and that was superb,it pulled from low revs but as you say it lacked,no lacked is the wrong word, it tailed off a little early but we a real drivers engine if you know what I mean. I'm hoping the midget give me as much fun. I have a MK1 MX...

Re: my latest project, looking for history or info

Hi Bob I've not had the chance to drive the Midget yet so cannot comment on the single carb conversion. There seems to be differing views on the conversion so I will have to wait until the car is road legal to test drive it. I've sent off to the DVLA for any information they may be able to provide a...

Re: my latest project, looking for history or info

The A2 is neither diesel nor auto,it's a colour storm in red with the 1.6tfsi petrol engine. sadly it needs a steering rack as it failed the test as the current one is leaking. a replacement rack can be bought but I don't have the time nor to be honest the inclination to fit it so it's away off to e...
