Re: Thoughts on old cars with new engines

I don't think any of us have the right to be critical. . I beg to disagree, and for the reason of the original post: "What do you all think about this? Would it be the ruination of an otherwise nice car?" Opinion asked for, opinion given. :D It's an opinion, not guidance or command, and as always I...

Re: Thoughts on old cars with new engines

Personal opinion? As a very last resort, ie where the original engine is missing or worn beyond repair and no similar models are available, then as an alternative to scrapping the car I'd allow it - but it would always be a botch. As far as my own personal likes or dislikes go, you can talk all day ...

Re: B.I.V.A Horror stories

B.I.V.A is something your vehicle has to be subjected to if you modify the monocoupe shell in any way what so ever, from something petty like cutting the manual gearstick hole out of the tunnel to go for an auto shifter, to summit major like useing a different floor pan like my escort. All night there was shhhhhh- thunk shhhhh-thunk on all sides. I...

Re: Fitting a Period(ish) Radio

I'm definitely a fan of stick-on aeriels, they work well these days and hide behind the rear-view mirror so no drilling the bodywork.

Re: PC and direct debits

I wonder what happened to the cars that were given out as prizes that year ,any body know? Which ones? There are so many cars in each issue now I've completely lost touch with what cars each staff member owns, which ones they've sold, are working on or are driving. Every magazine they find their dr...

Re: Will I fit in a Spitfire?

There's far more room in a Spitfire than the MG / Austin; at 6' 4 and 17 stone it explains why it was my preferred model...
