Re: Introductions

Hi, I'm Paul. I live in Wicklow in Ireland & I'm very slowly undertaking the restoration of a 1948 Alvis TA14. Mechanical stuff is more-or-less done. By that I mean that if you hooked up a fuel and electrical supply, it could be driven until one or the other ran out! I'm focussed on having the car r...

Re: The forum seems slow, is it just me?

I don't really want to spend too much money on the forum if i can help it, it's cost me quite a bit already. Perhaps i should put a paypal contributions button on the forum? Yep, things get complicated when money is involved. I was just curious whether the problem related only to me, or if it was a...

The forum seems slow, is it just me?

Hi,
I have to wait for about 15 seconds after each click to navigate around the new forum. Does everyone else have this experience, or is it just me?
Thanks,
Paul.

Re: Volvo woes!

Hi Paul, what a complete pain! Is there any space behind the bearing race for you to get something into? What I'm thinking if there's a gap behind it: cut out a flat plate with a hole in the middle. Make the plate as big as possible so that you can only just get it in behind the bearing race. You co...

Alloy welding

Hello All! Alloy welding: anyone done it? What did you use? I have been contemplating having a go with some of the alloy welding rod things which you can get. It sounds like it's similar to brazing but less heat required. I'd be inderested to hear what people think of these products. I'm not going f...

Re: The official PC forum and it's demise - an apology.

Welcome back! It's a terrible shame that all of the very useful technical info from the old forum is lost, I used to dive into it regularly! I cannot for the life of me think how killing off the forum can save Bauer money. It seemed to me that it was a (very cheap) way of doing market research which...
