Doesent look too bad ( at least comparred to ours when we started) you will probablybend up replacing most the usual areas though, once you start cutting even small areas of rust out I tend to end up replacing the whole area anyway. Ive got a 4 post lift I use just for this purpose, mine was secondhand, and is bolted to the 6" thick reinforced slab the garage stands on, I put my elan on top so oil drips are inevitable.

I had to go to defender rims on my series for the same reason, in fact i am sure there are a pair in the loft still, you can have them if you like, collection from chelmsford or dunton.

The rr is all painted and back together now, just the left hand sill / front floor /A pillar to do to make it mot worthy. Now the drivers door is hinged properly I have noticed the latch only opens at the very end of the lever pull, I suspect it has the common issue of a broken spring. On the others...

Some progress last night, the repair section has been seam welded up and fitted.

Brake pipe replaced, at least no sign of corrosion on the fittings, I haven't bled them yet so lets hope the bleed nipples come undone!

Most of the rust also cut out of the floor hopefully get it all replaced tomorrow, might even get the body mount done as well.

More rust issues on the way home from work, the main front rear brake pipe burst due to one small area of corrosion just behind the front wheel. Good news is the front part of the dual circuit system seems to work pretty well ! I have a roll of pipe and flaring tools so replacing it will not be a ma...
