Re: first cars ideas
Check out Young Guns Classics - it's an online car club for young people who've got (or want) old cars. Big variety in them too; there's a Rover P6 2000SC Auto (which is surprisingly reliable and economical), an Austin 1100, two Spitfires, two MGB GTs, a couple of Land Rovers, MG Midgets, Minis etc...

Re: Tyres for Spitfyres
That's cheap compared to my Jag (rolling on metrics), at £255 a corner. There is only one company that still makes them.Aar0sc wrote:Personally I'm still shocked at the cost for two new tyres on Dad's Volvo - double blowout caused by a vicious and unavoidable kerbstone in path of the car - was £390!

Spend most of my frees at school talking to him about old cars  My DT teacher is also interested in old cars. We were talking at lunch and he said he used to work at a car garage as a teenager and remembers a really wealthy guy leaving a Austin-Healey 3000 with him as it had running problems. ...

Saw a MGB GT Jubilee Edition in the school car park today. And as I found out today, the guy who drives it is my new history teacher. I spent most of the lesson talking to him about classics, and he said that the best car he's ever owned is a red Austin-Healey 3000. http://i839.photobucket.com/album...
