Re: Loss of power in Triumph 6 cylinder

....Changing from one electronic ignition to another does not prove the ignition is not at fault...... It does if the Britpart one has developed a leak, but to discover that, you'd need to get the engine warm and swap the Britpart with the Pertronix. Condensers are rubbish nowadays since the caps p...

Re: Footman James

RH will only cover people with full-term licences though, however FJ (and, in all fairness, Adrian Flux) aren't put off by a licence that has to be renewed every three years.

So can we have a three-way fight please? None of this AV sh*te either; first killed, loses.

It's Denem, but close enough....

It was indeed, and I had the sump shield (and posh wheels & interior) from a Denem estate in a scrapyard in 1985 to prevent my "Gordini-fied" 12 estate losing any more sumps to humpy-backed bridges. How I'd love to save a Denem now though, if only to make up for my sins against the breed back...

Re: What colour should an A series engine block be?

The capacity is stated on the side of the block in fairly large letters, so that much is easy to confirm. I think that Marina 1098 blocks came without the removable tappet chest covers of the Minor, but could be thinking of the Marina 1300 which certainly had no removable covers.

Re: What colour should an A series engine block be?

The only black A-series I can think of for fore & aft fitting is that from a Marina. If it's still 1098cc, then it must be from a Marina van or pickup.

Re: Footman James

Credit cards, fair enough, but they shouldn't be charging to accept debit card and indeed didn't when I took out cover with them recently, for a vehicle that couldn't be added to the policy I have with Adrian Flux. Ask again, this has to be a mistake.

Not in a Minor, no. It should also be green. ;)
