Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

However, I disagree on your take a snipe at drive it day statement. Sorry m8, wasn't meant to be a snipe, just a remark that a high-profile television slot like this - watched by millions of people all round the world - will raise the profile of classic cars far higher than any Classic event to whi...

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

I reckon Prince William has done more for the classic movement in one small drive down the mall in an Aston Martin than any amount of Drive It Days or other hype. I must invite him to our next show... What a beautiful car, and what a lovely way to display it. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff20...

Re: What constitutes a classic?

this is dull chaps.. But.. any kind of debate usually is. So: we'll let ANY kind of car that anyone likes, in. Regardless of age, price, interest value or rarity. I then go to this kind of show, and find my interest sidelined amongst large numbers of cars which don't interest me. So: I'll start up ...

Re: Something fishy - dirty tricks on eBay?

I've checked my seller's feedback, he has a lot of sales to the same group of people - in one case seven identical items all to the same buyer, with other small groups of sales of three or four identical items to different buyers. In my opinion you wouldn't want - or need - seven of this particular ...

Something fishy - dirty tricks on eBay?

I was looking for a certain classic part recently and guess what - four of them came up at once, all from the same seller. I bid on one with quite a high maximum bid, and watched the other three. Two days to go and my item is outbid, so I bid on the second one which was still at the starting price. ...

Re: What constitutes a classic?

By the way, have you heard the sound system? You will. :D There's nowt wrong with having a good sound system in your car, though. My Ami (45 years old) has a 600 watt amp mated to a MASSIVE bass box and a pair of smaller speakers. The sound is great and the wingmirrors vibrate with the bass at full...

I don't believe they did it. I mean, NO-ONE takes a bin out on a Bank Holiday.

Re: What constitutes a classic?

There's a simple answer to the what constitutes a classic in my eyes: Whatever i own is a classic, whatever you own isn't (unless it's what i own too). That seems to be the way it works in my experience ;) Sadly this also appears to be the view of some who attend shows round where I live. It may be...

Re: Question on a modern

No idea about the Carina engine, but Triumphs use a copper washer in the gearbox / bellhousing assembly which if worn or omitted leads to oil leaks; might be the same sort of thing?

Re: Great day at last

She's actually a DILF (Duchess) or possibly a PILF (princess), but no chance for us commoners now that she's got her hands on some wealthy willy. William that is.
