Re: Had a week off and did lots of driving

She looks great. :)

I'm putting miles on to mine too. Engine was rebuilt over the winter and I want to get to 1,800 miles and service before a trip to Le Mans. Ooo, that gives me an idea for a thread.
I went to the Cotswolds for a bit, but didn't get any views like that.

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

There were three Daimlers sold at a Bonhams auction a couple of years back which were owned and driven by The Queen. One of them seen behind this XJS: http://www.adamashmore.co.uk/avs/papers/archive/2009%2007%20Bonhams/photos/DSCF0587m.JPG http://www.adamashmore.co.uk/avs/papers/archive/2009%2007%20...

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

Call that a "classic"? Rubbish. Not as good as my Maestro I had decked out for our wedding! ;)

A great car, lovely to see. A bit of fun on the day. It seems that the happy couple also realised the roads would be quiet on the day of the wedding.

Re: Does anyone else think Drive It day is stupid?

It's easy for people to simply take part in it, have a nice day with their friends, and perhaps have a pint and a bag of chips at the end of the day. I'm not against having fun in your classic, far from it, but this day seems to have simply become a jolly and many people who take part in it don't k...

Re: Does anyone else think Drive It day is stupid?

Ironic off topic point: Luxo was just stopping this thread being derail by another topic. We know that one can take over any thread. As such I think Luxo is promoting our choice of topics, not dictating them. There are some good points here and maybe there is a little mis-guided promotion. However I...

Re: Wheels day pics, lots of 'em

Thanks Seth. I suppose it would have been the same effort to remove the flares on the replacement bonnet as introduce them on the rear wheel arches. However if your going to widen the wheels at the time I can see why you would do it. Especially as the fashion of the time was for the flares.

Re: Wheels day pics, lots of 'em

That E is interesting. Series 1 rear lights. Series 2/3 front lights. Flared wheelarches like a Series 3 (although not the same). And, of course the wide wheels.
