Jaguar front top wishbone ball joint

I am going to change the upper wishbone ball joints on a Jaguar E-Type at the weekend. http://www.sngbarratt.com/catalogue/parts/show.asp?id=7486&keys=&modelfamilyid=14&categoryid=4&stype=2&pagepos=0&back=y&next=y Any tips on this? Particularly on driving out the old ball joint and inserting the new...

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

The benefit of the "drive it days" are that the general public can see that classic cars can be and indeed are owned and driven by ordinary everyday people. Classic Cars for all and not just the elite. What a daft statement. How can a member of the general public know if someone is "posh" or not by...

Re: Alloy Wheel Refurbishment

They aren't near you Topline, but for others reading the page I recommend www.mintalloys.co.uk. The website is full of new car wheels, but they did my Jag's (another Jag Luxo!) minilites - very nice. The guy picked them up from my work and returned them a few days later. A friendly and helpful servi...

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

s'an outrage! Especially how the bloke who can fly a helicopter can't even open a petrol cap. How can this madness be allowed to happen when there are starving people in Africa?

Anyway, nice Aston. :D

Re: London to Brighton runs.

I have a friend who did the £87.50 version last year - he had a great time. And even stayed the rest of the weekend in Brighton. In a hotel that charged him ;)

However there is nothing to stop a "lets meet in London and then lets meet in Brighton" event.

Running-in

After a winter rebuild I'm running in 4.2l XK engine in an E-Type. I wondered what rules you lot used for running in. My plan was 500 miles with Penrite running in oil with 3,000rpm max. Oil and filter change then put 1,000 miles on it limited to 3,500rpm max. In the end it will be more 800miles wit...

Re: Thank you, your Royal Highness!

I had two Jags at my wedding - very nice. I met the guy who kindly loaned one of them at an autojumble. He recognised me, but I didn't recognised him - I had other things I suppose.
My Maestro was the equivelent to the Aston above. The young couples "practical" classic.
