ROVER P6 Master Cylinder
Hi is the pipe from the reservoir to the master cylinder on the s2 2200 SC detachable as I need to replace the steel pipe to the master cylinder and I'm not sure if I have a spare or what the pipe is like from it. The pipe kit I bought online did not include it and we can't find a nut to unscrew at ...

I'm not sure if I regret it.....
A couple of years ago I was carless, well I owned my Rover 2200 SC but it was under restoration and not driveable. I asked my usual garage man but he had nothing cheap, by cheap I mean €300-400 as that was the cash i had at hand. (had sold my modern to pay for welding on the Rover.... yes and it's s...

Re: Auto adjusting piston problem
From the pictures in the link the base of the axle that the star adjuster mechanism is rotating on is just pressed in. The only way i have to pull it is to screw in the adjuster and pull the centre axle out with the puller. Hence my concern about stripping the threads.

Still no details of piston internals
hI Kevin thanks for the information but the thread doesn't show how to strip the inside of the piston, just the cylinder and caliper which i've done already.
I'll try searching a few more forums myself but i was hoping to find someone who has done it already here.

Auto adjusting piston problem
I've stripped the rear standard brake caliper on my 1991 Mazda MX5. However in the rebuild kit they supplied a new piston. HOwever there is a problem. the existing piston has the auto adjustment function and I started to strip it but I can't remove the inner parts bar the circlip and spring. having ...

Think i'll rebuild it.
It's cheaper to buy a new one on ebay but the postage on both and the exchange rate to Ireland kills the bargain stone dead.
I'll buy a rebuild kit that includes a new piston etc. I'm fairly handy mechanically I've done new seals before.

Not the servo, Thank God
Well the vacuum pipe was bone dry as was the servo. The fluid is coming from the handbrake assembly on the rear nearside brake caliper.
So now I'm wondering is the caliper toast or can I rebuild it. Has anyone seen this before???

I'll try that.
Thats a good idea to "dip" the servo. Didn't get a chance to look at it today as she was working.
Can you recondition the master cylinder and servo or are they disposable items only?

Re: Disappearing Brake Fluid
Thanks for that, I'll do a full run through and check the vacuum pipe from the manifold.
