My MGC has a distributor bought from simonbbc on ebay - great value and it runs much more smoothly now :)

The Chrysler V6 doesn't like having the EGR disconnected or blanked - keep it standard, is my advice

I don't think Ive seen 35amp blade fuses - only 30 or 40amp. I would try 30amp myself.

I had exactly that happen on my MGC - fitted a new rotor arm which was faulty right out of the box.

There is an issue with the very last XJ/ZJ/WJ engines due to cracking of cylinder heads - there is a telltale casting number on the head which is something like 0331. - a search on google for the details will throw it up. I have two Jeeps powered by that engine here in Abu Dhabi. I drive them hard for long periods of time in temperatures of 45C (and sometimes higher). The engines are absolutely bombproof - one has 270,000 km on it, all of it in this country.

For cleaning, Vanish soap, a nailbrush and warm water are unbeatable, wiped down with a sponge and clean water
