Re: Restoring bumper back to black on 1996 Audi cabriolet

Thanks Dick. Someone has suggested Wurth Satin Black for the paint. Is that a decent shout? Yes, probably. But assuming the bumper is plastic, it's well worth getting a proper primer suitable for plastic and applying that first. Also, as with so many things in life, preparation is paramount - I'd r...

Re: Lawnmower

Living in a house with 3 acres, I've acquired quite a bit of experience with fixing lawnmowers over the past few years, so if it'd been me I'd have fixed that Husqvarna, they're excellent machines and ALL parts are available, you'd probably pick up a whole engine for not a lot of ££. Too late now......

Re: 206

Clear the codes and see if they come back. If they do, it sounds like possible O2 sensor or a vacuum leak.

Re: 206

Wifey took the 206 out tonight, heater has stopped working and there's a burning rubber smell coming off the belts.... When you had the old belt off, did you check that everything that it drives was turning freely? Sounds to me like one component is seized, hence the old belt turning up its...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

That's a really interesting problem, that you've explained logically and well. I'd agree with your hypothesis, looks and sounds to me like there's no eccentric on the cam. For me, it's a no-brainer to go straight to an electric fuel pump set up, yes there's an initial cost of course, but thereafter ...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Just a couple of thoughts: 1) Re. carb balancing, I know my Midget is a very different beast, but it does have twin SU carbs, and I found that the Gunson Carb Balancer tool was VERY effective in getting the vacuum "suck" on both carbs aligned and balanced absolutely spot on. You can do it at tickove...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....

Fantastic stuff, sounds like a lot of fun doing that - there's something about doing bikes that's extra rewarding I think - maybe because compared to a car they're quick to do, and a lot less rust? Looks fab in the photo on the prom - well, in all the photos, but especially that one. Loving the fron...
