Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

One big failing in the van is the fact that it sounds like you're driving a bag of metal biscuit tins full of ball bearings down a flight of stairs on a pogo stick due to the number of bangs, rattles, squeaks and other assorted noises from the living area. Now it's essentially a house crammed into a...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

So ...far too long ago... you may recall that having transplanted my only slightly dodgy brake master cylinder from my spares Invacar, I'd attempted to bleed the brakes only to have one of the metal brake lines immediately pop. I'd also had to swap over one wheel cylinder following a bleed nipple sn...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Look what I found at a classic car show today... https://preview.ibb.co/dd54pz/IMG_20180916_154022.jpg Was glad to get them parked close enough to each other to get the photo of them both. The green one is a 210 as well, so 2.5 petrol - and automatic at that...shudder to think how many miles that do...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Aux drive belt decided to come off the Activa today, so something is definitely amiss with one of the tensioners or something...though they all seem fine when spun by hand. I'll get as many covers etc out of the way and stick the belt back on and get it idling and see if I can see any signs of where...

Re: 1993 Riva 1.5E Estate For Sale

Well the parts are all here and mostly getting in the way, and most of the stuff I've been doing on this car are things I mostly enjoy. I did have a look into possible storage, didn't find much locally though. Plus leaving a car sitting in a (probably damp) shed for goodness knows how long won't do ...

Re: 1993 Riva 1.5E Estate For Sale

Definitely drives far better too! As far as the Lada is concerned, it too is now driving nicely. There was an issue for a while where it was idling fast and unevenly, though it had pretty much always done it so hadn't thought too much about it. Vacuum leak - nipped up one of the manifold nuts a tiny...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

It's not quiet by any means but not uncomfortably so. It's an odd behaved car at speed in that it's far happier, smoother and more stable at an indicated 75mph than 55-60. She is astonishingly happy on the motorway - especially now the injection kit is working well. Being honest, with the way the to...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

As requested, here's the video footage from a quick run from a retail park just outside the centre of MK over to Buckingham and back. Haven't actually viewed the footage myself yet other than a quick glance at it to prove it wasn't corrupt. Looks a bit shaky, I might have another shot with the camer...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Sounds like an excuse to test out the off-brand-but-well-reviewed Go-Pro knock-off we mainly got for the dog then. Will find somewhere to attach it and go for a spin. Probably do the same in the van as the first try there was dire. Used my phone directly fixed to the dash, and the vibration basicall...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Had the Lada out and about in town in actual use today and can confirm that it's running so, so, so much better with the vacuum leak sorted out. Should have spent half an hour sorting that six months ago... it's actually nice to drive now rather than just stressful. Hopefully will get it out on the ...
