Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

End of play today we had this on the odometer... https://i.ibb.co/DVkjNhY/IMG-20190222-225901.jpg That's another five miles covered for those playing along at home. Would probably have been more actually as mechanically things were going just fine - however the indicator stalk decided to part compan...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

While it was a bit of a faff, I actually feel pretty good about today's efforts seeing the end result. Basically I wound up generally tidying up the area under the front service hatch as well as plumbing in the fuel pump. https://i.ibb.co/YLLv8Yf/IMG-20190221-164531.jpg The cardboard under the fuel ...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Following the seemingly successful test yesterday of the electric pump I wanted to move it to a slightly more sensible location. Putting anything like that under the car on an Invacar is pretty tricky as the chassis is quite shallow and there's no central tunnel or anything. So it will be getting at...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Having the electric fuel pump in hand meant that I could start doing a bit of investigative work on TP's fuel system. Step one though was to test the pump and to run a bit of clean fuel through it first, as I've no idea when it was last used nor what it last pumped. Not too much gunk came out really...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Thanks to the generousity of the gent behind Hub Nut I received a couple of items which are functionally unimportant but psychologically important shiny bits for TP today which I've now got fitted. https://i.ibb.co/tJBrk3w/IMG-20190218-163442.jpg https://i.ibb.co/0cqqDtk/IMG-20190218-163433.jpg Kind...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Given that I've spent quite a bit of money on car bits over the last week or two I had a plan to try to get through this weekend without spending any more money. Oh...wait... https://i.ibb.co/m49pQtD/IMG-20190216-143710.jpg £83 later...we were able to run those few errands. In terms of the cars I've...

Have just had a fuel tank made by these guys and can't recommend them enough. Delight to deal with, and the result speaks for itself. https://i.ibb.co/X4sRL1j/IMG-20190205-111437.jpg They seem like real car people and have the general approach of "anything can be made, we just need to work out how."...

Re: Cylinder Block Waterways Rust Remover

Forgot to mention it in my previous post - the other substance which is worth keeping in mind is cheap cola. The acids in the flavouring help shift rust directly, and the carbonation in the fluid helps agitate things. While originally skeptical, I have successfully unseized a couple of bike parts in...

Re: Looking to have a fuel tank made...

Just to close this off... Following a recommendation from the Microcar World group on Facebook (a platform that I tend to try to avoid unless absolutely necessary) I approached a company by the name of Fusion Fabrications who unlike everyone I had previously contacted, almost immediately came back w...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Lada, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

As far as cosmetics go my target is basically "presentable from ten paces." I'm not planning a full repaint or anything like that, but would like to get rid of the duct tape and replace it with at least a vaguely competent looking repair to the actual bodywork. I certainly don't mind her showing som...
