Re: breakdown truck

John, you like weird sort of mix & match. Here's a Moggie Pick Up that's had a bit of an engine tune. Minor_Pickup-0.jpg Minor_Pickup-.jpg Minor_Pickup.jpg I wonder what Mr Chapman would make of it? Re: breakdown truck

Strangely enough, my late father, 86 when he passed, used to think in Kilos. His reasoning involved the fact that the metric system was a British invention, where as the Avoirdupois system is French.. OK so it might ;) not be but he was right about metric being a British thing before other places a...

Re: breakdown truck

GHT, it's barely worth risking used oil but whether you use the new stuff or have an approved reclamation facility in your home to reduce further still your vehicle's environmental impact, then no duty is payable on the first 2500 litres of veg-based fuel used in one year, thereafter duty should be...

Re: breakdown truck

I would be interested to know if there is a tax liability when running on veggie fuels. Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Compressed Natural Gas and Electricity all fall within the remit of fuel d...

Re: breakdown truck

If only that Deafener had been a 300TDI, they wouldn't have needed to throw away a perfectly good engine as fossil fuels may be a thing of the past soon, but as long as fresh RSO is available at 47p per litre, who cares? :o :scared: Fossil fuel might well be on the way out, but you can run a diesel...

Re: breakdown truck

You'll probably find that with that sort of power the batteries last for about 20 miles and take three days to recharge :D You're probably right, but the speed that technology goes at these days, it will only be a matter of time. Back in 1986 I saw my first ever mobile phone, this fellow had, what ...

Re: breakdown truck

Excuse my butting in chaps, but The Beast is so last century! Quite so, and it's timely that the last post is an electric milk float on E-Bay. Just before my brother and I sold our business we were talking to the proprietor of the garage that serviced and maintained our vans. He told us that he had...
