according to Classic car weekly any vehicle now noted as 'historic' ( over 40 years old) is free from both congestion and emission charges.. tempting to dive my car through london lol but doubt it would make it. ( rover p6) plus I hate traffic. still at least they got round banning the London to Bri...

various cars in a guys front garden in various stages of disrepair e.g. austin Allegro. fiat. other local cars are BMW's , for granada and a cortina. also see odd classic driving past e.g. MGB. sun and spring weather seems to get more on the road. :thumbs:

many thanks helpful tips and advise. car has to wait to get attention here as off on hols soon , and car needs new servo and brake lines plus boss hates spending pension funds on 'IT' ..so avoiding working or spending on it keeps the peace. oil is clear and has been changed with new filter. am aware...

having to keep getting new password sent. as my PC fails to record in many cases. says I can change this to password of my choice on 'profile' sadly ( is it an age thing?) simply cannot find any way of locating a user profile.. a step by step guide may be handy .

know the EU has ruled no MOT needed for pre 1960 cars but that taking things a bit far. rear tread is so low I can't even see the tyre on the wheel.

just replaced front callipers and master cylinder ( rover p6) and had experience when driving of front brakes locking on.. managed to open fluid line in front of servo and free up to drive back. didn't occur on way back..spoke to an 84 year old whom was into classic cars ( at our club meet) who said...

interesting. having just replaced both front calipers and master cylinder ( rover p6) i found when parking that both front brake were locked on..pedal was firm. releasing flu in line at servo sorted it until I got home. chat with an 84 year old whom had had this car ( not mine) and others said immed...

update. carbs rebuild using new seal. needles and jets not interfered with. idle and fuel flow set using hot engine and color tune on both banks. runs lumpy when cold but when hot idles perfectly. power still seems low and after a stop..it really is slow ..then all of a sudden it will accelerate lik...

have to see about getting pic shown of my rover p6. ( ought to be called money pit) had it 2 years and covered around 200 miles. new from callipers and went to local club meet just 5 miles away. thought engine was dying on me as refused to go over 22 mph.. got there and as soon as stopped .smoke aro...
