Re: Fastest "real" car

Not to be a pedant *cough* but having just checked my handy Guinness book of world records 2015, The land speed record for a wheel driven car has been held by Donald Campbell since 17th July 1964. As it is printed in a book written by the organisation responsible for world records, I am inclined to...

Re: Fastest "real" car

As it is printed in a book written by the organisation responsible for world records, I am inclined to believe it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_speed_record The FIA is the governing body responsible for automotive land speed records (except for motorbikes where it's the FIM). So I'll go by wh...

Re: Car SOS.

I watch it catch on up and fast forward through his clowning around, I would rather see a bit more of the resto work. My point exactly! So much time is wasted with TS pratting about and over-long coverage of handing back the car at the end that the restoration work hardly gets a look in. How anyone...

Re: Fastest "real" car

Page 7 of the September edition. Here we go again……… If a thrust-powered Land Speed Record car is “nothing more than an aircraft without wings” Danny then why did it take until 1997 for someone to achieve a supersonic Land Speed Record when supersonic flight has been around since the 1940s? The answ...
