Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle
Thanks for your comments. :) Olive was assembled here in Melbourne. Beetles were made here from CKD (Completely knocked down) kits from 1954 to 1975 with varying local content for glass, trim, lights and paint. This shade is unique to Australian built VWs, although it was possibly also used on Datsu...

Historic vehicle registration changes in Australia
The 1st of February marked a happy day for classic car owners in my home state of Victoria, Australia. For many years we have had two choices of registration for cars over 25 years old: 1. Full Registration at the full rate. 2. "Club Permit" or "Historic" registration. Option 2 - Club Permit - is on...

Bnicho's 1971 Morris Mini Moke.
Here is my 1971 Moke I call Mopoke. It's my favourite car, because it's such a hoot to drive and it attracts so much attention. We have a lot of fun together and I don't mind if she gets the odd paint chip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v662/bnicho/mopoke/71_Moke.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/a...

It was probably considered quite acceptable to use gobs of filler and wire in those days. I've got a 1959 edition of a magazine with a similar piece.
Cheers,

Re: when
Theres one Fuego and one Fuego Turbo that I know of within two miles of my house. The Turbo belongs to a Renault nut who races an R8 Gordini replica.

Re: Accessories with positive earth
You could add a second cigar socket that is wired the negative earth way and is isolated from the car's body and seperately fused. That way you can use any modern accessory you want - SatNav, iPod, Phone Chargers etc. The new socket could be hidden under the dash so it doesn't alter the look of your...
