Interesting! A guy I worked with did it the other way around - Rangie Classic body modified into a pickup and bolted onto a Disco chassis.
Cheers,

Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle
Some theiving barstard stole all four of the wheel trim rings off Olive yesterday. It'll only cost about $80-100 AU to replace them, but it's still very annoying all the same.
Maybe it's time to fit some alloys instead? Silver lining and all that...

Re: Latest issue - March 2011 on sale now.
Sorry, I have a couple of gripes on the Wolseley Hornet article by Richard "Judge" Dredge. The article says a three speed auto was optional. The AP box BMC used in Minis and derivatives was always a four speed. A low ride hieght on a dry car may not be worn-out knuckle joints at all. It's just as li...

Re: police camera etc
The ones we have here are mostly American clips.
I don't know whether that means there are more fools in America than the resto of the world, or just they have more video cameras in their cop cars?
I do watch a New Zealand thing called "Motorway Patrol" which is quite good.

Re: In admiration of car painters
Agreed! Painting really drives me nuts. No matter how much time I spend on prep I still find faults. I'd hate that as a job. The pro's must have shortcuts. Imagine your first day as an apprentice if they gave you something huge like a Range Rover to prep for a respray. Most would quit within a week....

Re: Bnicho's 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle
My son is Herbie crazy. So Olive the Beetle is his favourite. But my daughter seems to prefer Mopoke the Moke.
If that's the way it works out, then at least there will be no fights ove who gets which car when I die!

Re: Bnicho's 1971 Morris Mini Moke.
The Moke does not get used much in winter. While the top is reasonably effective, the fun part is driving with it down. So I avoid taking it out when rain is forecast and I didn't bother fitting a heater. It seems Queensland and Perth get all the disaster press. Victoria has had a battering with flo...

Re: Bnicho's 1971 Morris Mini Moke.
Thanks, the dash took a lot of thought in the planning. But it was surprisingly easy to make. The main part was simply folded by hand from a single piece of stainless steel on "Black and Decker Workmate". I then made sure everything fitted the way I wanted and cut the holes with a jigsaw before cove...

Re: Historic vehicle registration changes in Australia
This is a Victoria only change. I suppose you could call vehicle registration laws here devolved. Each state can make their own laws on areas not covered by Federal laws. For example new car standards (emissions, crash testing etc) are controlled by federal law, but vehicle registration is not. Each...
